Statistical data and metadata management software for official statistics using SDMX
SDMX Statistical Data Warehouse
Fusion Registry 11 is a statistical data warehouse and data exchange for official statistics organisations who need to collect, integrate, store, process and disseminate aggregated data using the SDMX standard.
It consists of a number of modules centred on the Fusion Registry Core data engine, including Fusion Edge Server a secure high-performance data dissemination server, and Fusion Data Browser a configurable data discovery and analytics tool for data consumers and analysts. It also incorporates the same SDMX structural metadata registry as Fusion Metadata Registry.
Cloud and on-premises options.
SDMX Structural Metadata Registry
Fusion Metadata Registry is a free to use structural metadata registry to the SDMX specification for authoring, maintaining, storing and exchanging structural metadata including Data Structure Definitions, Codelists and Concepts.

What is the difference between Fusion Metadata Registry and Fusion Registry?
Fusion Metadata Registry (FMR) and Fusion Registry (FR) are both SDMX tools, but what's the difference?
FMR is a structural metadata registry.
It's used for authoring and storing structures such as DSDs, and acts as a database of metadata for driving statistical processes including collection, validation and data discovery. It provides three built-in data processing services, but otherwise does not handle data.
FR is a statistical data warehouse.
A database for SDMX data and reference metadata. It stores SDMX data collected from data providers, data created by internal production processes and data from other sources such the ECB or OECD. Like all databases it can be queried, and acts as a data source for data production, analytics, data reporting and dissemination services.
Innovative software for reliable, insightful and timely official statistics.
Fusion Registry is built entirely around the SDMX information model ensuring complete reliability and compatibility.
We understand the needs of official statistics organisations, so Fusion Registry supports all of the common use cases from collection through to final dissemination.
Fusion Registry's plug-in framework makes it easy to extend to cover any new use cases or requirements, for instance custom data formats.
Metadata (information about how the statistical data is structured and classified) is at the heart of everything enabling data governance, quality and automation.
Statisticians and data consumers want fast response both when exploring the data catalogue and executing queries. Fusion Registry is designed to provide industry-leading performance, and to scale easily as data volumes and demand rise.
Good statistics are only useful if people can get access to them. That's why Fusion Registry comes with a powerful web data browser tool for data search, visualisation and analysis.
Deploy on-premises for maximum control over configuration, integration and confidentiality. Or take advantage of Metadata Technology's managed cloud services for a cost effective and low management solution.
You're not just buying an SDMX software tool, but a continuously evolving ecosystem of products, solutions and services designed exclusively for the official statistics community by listening to the requirements of the official statistics community.

Use Cases
Aggregated statistics storage
- Storage of all aggregated SDMX time series
- Centralise and control structural metadata
- Author and maintain structural metadata
- Drive statistics production using centrally-controlled metadata
- Provide an SDMX-compliant REST structure API
- Disseminate data on public access websites
- Disseminate private or controlled-access data
- Provide an SDMX-compliant REST data API for data consumers
- Collect and consolidate data from multiple data providers
- Collect data using metadata-driven Excel forms
- Map (transform) incoming data into standardised structures
- Prepare SDMX data for reporting
- Validate prepared data for compliance with the data collector's specifications prior to reporting
- Map (transform) outgoing data into the collector's required structure
- Physically or virtually integrate aggregated data from multiple sources into a single searchable data catalogue
- Catalogue and add metadata to FAME series
- Data processing execution engine: data structural validation, mapping to different structures and conversion

SDMX Training and Advisory
Metadata Technology was founded by the consultants who developed the original SDMX standards.
Today, we continue to offer advisory services for organisations wanting to deploy SDMX and improve its utilisation in areas such as data dissemination, metadata-driven data collection, mapping and reference metadata. Metadata Technology is an advisor to the SDMX Technical Working Group (TWG) and actively contributes to the development of the standard.
Custom SDMX training can be provided for statisticans and data modellers, and also IT specialists concerned with the design and deployment of SDMX-based software solutions. Altova XML Spy is used on all training when working with the SDMX-ML XML transmission formats and schemas. More information on XML Spy can be found at https://www.altova.com/xml-editor.
What is SDMX?
SDMX (Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange) is an international standard that aims at standardising and modernising the mechanisms and processes for the exchange of statistical data and metadata between official statistics organisations.
SDMX is sponsored by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the European Central Bank (ECB), Eurostat (the statistical office of the European Union), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), and the World Bank.
